The foremost presidential candidate in the country and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has described the late Yeyesewa of Lagos and the immediate past South-West Zonal Woman Leader of the party, Chief Mrs. Titilola Olukemi Nelson as an unforgettable Amazon.

The former governor of Lagos State gave the tribute at the funeral ceremony of the late party chieftain earlier in the week.

In his tribute, Asiwaju Tinubu who was represented by the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tunji Bello eulogized Kemi Nelson and described her as a good woman. He stated: “I was shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of activist, prominent politician and one of my closest associates, Yeye Kemi Nelson.

“We shall never forget Yeye Nelson. For her past sacrifice for Lagos and indeed Nigeria, she will be remembered. For her commitment to the womenfolk and the downtrodden, she will be celebrated.”

The funeral event for the late APC Chieftain who slept on the Lord on Sunday, 17 July 2022 at the age of 66 commenced on Tuesday, 23 August 2022, with an Evening of Songs and Tributes at the Haven Event Center, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.

The event was hosted by the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG City of David, Lagos with songs and lots of tributes to the former Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

Family members of the erstwhile Director of Operations, Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, NSITF, also gave testimonies and tributes to the deceased.
Her daughter, Mrs. Adetoun Popoola, gave an account of how motherly and caring her mum was to everyone that came her path. Also, the first child of the family, Abayomi Nelson said he will greatly miss his dear mum, describing her as a very compassionate mother.
