Global sprint sensation and World Champion, Tobi Amusan won the Women 100m Hurdles event at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England. By her latest win, she has reaffirmed her status as an athlete of repute and one to be reckoned with in the global sports of athletics.

Like she did at the World Championship in Eugene, Oregon two weeks ago, Amusan not only won but did so in record breaking fashion setting a new Commonwealth Games record by clocking 12.30secs in the final of the event early on Sunday, 7 August, 2022.

Devvyn Charlton of Bahamas won the Silver medal with a time of 12.58 seconds while England’s Cyndy Sember won the Bronze medal with a time of 12.59 seconds.

Amusan’s medal brought the number of Nigeria’s Gold medal to 10, all won by the nation’s female athletes.
