Theliberationnews reliably gathered that Aare Dele Momodu, Ovation International publisher and one of the presidential aspirants in the last Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primaries is gradually becoming a unifying force in the opposition party. According to sources that wants its name out of print, the media mogul, ahead of the fast-approaching general elections and in the to foster unity of purpose behind the party’s standard flag bearer, has hosted presidential aspirants of the party in his Ikoyi, Lagos residence.
The meeting which was the first of its kind since the party’s presidential primary in May, theliberationnews reliably gathered was held at his beautiful Penthouse in Ikoyi, Lagos.
The meeting had in attendance Mrs Tari Oliver, Charles Ugwu, Chikwendu Kalu, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa among others, according to theliberationnews sources that was corroborated by a post on the media mogul’s handle.
The post read in part: “The duty of every responsible party man or woman is to work hard for the victory of your political party. This is the reason some of us, former Presidential aspirants of PDP, have come together to work on the unity of members of our party and find amicable settlement of all burning issues. Mrs Tari Oliver, Charles Ugwu, Chikwendu Kalu, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa and others from different parts of Nigerian have established lines of communications with our party elders and stakeholders.”
He added that the team subsequently visited the former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose who is on a break from on-field politics since his medical surgery.
The meeting is coming on the heels of similar effort by the presidential candidate of the party Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who held a meeting with the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike on Thursday in London.
As reported by theliberationnews, Atiku’s meeting with Wike which had in attendance governors of Oyo, Benue and Abia States, Seyi Makinde, Sam Ortom and Okezie Ikpeazu, respectively ended with palpable ecstasy on the faces of all.
