The Executive Chairman of Isolo LCDA, Olasoju Adebayo has joined the list of politicians who have expressed discomfiture over the passage of one time Commissioner for Women Affairs & Poverty Alleviation in Lagos State and member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), Chief (Mrs.) Kemi Nelson.
Theliberationnews reported the death of the Yeyesewa of Lagos on Sunday, aged 66, after battling an undisclosed ailment for some time.
In a release signed by the council boss and published through his media office, Olasoju expressed his deepest sympathy to her immediate family and the party, the All Progressive Congres over the demise of the former State Women Leader. It read in part:
“It’s quite worrying to hear of the news of Chief Mrs. Kemi Nelson’s death at a time the progressives, especially Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s disciples were expecting her to shake off her sickness and be saddled with mobilizing the women around the country to actualize Asiwaju’s presidential ambition. Indeed, the state and democrats around world have lost a gem whose replacement may not easily come by.
“While still in discomfort over her saddening death, may I use this medium to express my deepest sympathy to her immediate family and the progressive family in the state and across the globe over the death of such a colossal being. Her death has, no doubt, left a great vacuum that will be difficult to fill in her family and our party.”
Relishing her selfless and impactful political career, Olasoju scored her high as a commissioner, state woman leader, southwest woman leader and, until her death, member of the GAC noting that her meritorious service in all those positions has left a big vacuum in the party.
“Yeyesewa was as selfless as patriotic in discharging her responsibilities as a commissioner, party woman leader in the state as well as the southwest region and replicated same as a member of the Governor’s Advisory Council”.
Praying for the repose of the soul of the departed embodiment of beauty that Nelson was, the council boss wished her immediate family and entire party faithful the state of mind needed to overcome her transition.
“May Almighty God favourably accept her homecoming and grant us all the fortitude to deal with the reality of her death”, Olasoju prayed.
