To effectively tackle insecurity in the country, the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, has called for more collaborative efforts among security agencies.
This advocacy was made when the governor received the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya, at the Government House in Owerri, the state capital on Monday.
In his remarks, Uzodinma highlighted the significance of a collaborative civil-military relationship, most especially in the South East region of the country which has been a subject of attacks by armed men in recent times.
The Army Chief explained that the courtesy visit to the governor was part of the programs lined up to commemorate this year’s Army Day Celebration in the state.
General Yahaya went on to emphasize that the Nigerian Army remain committed to ensuring sustainable peace and stability in the country and also expressed his appreciation to the people and government of Imo State for their hospitality as army personnel converges on the state capital from all over the country for the celebration.
