Former Governor of Kano State and most popular politician in that state, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has expressed his utmost confidence in the presidential flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and foremost heir apparent to the presidency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Kwankwaso, obviously the most popular politician in Kano state at the moment and the presidential flag bearer of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) during an interview with Arise News monitored by The Liberation News expressed his conviction in Asiwaju’s capability to turn things around in Nigeria when elected noting that if he (Kwankwaso) can not get it, he will recommend Tinubu for the lofty presidential office.
Speaking on Tinubu’s choice of running mate which has continued to generate commendations and knocks from various quarters, the former Defence Minister and former senator representing Kano Central District between 2015 and 2019 expressed his satisfaction with Asiwaju’s decision to pick Kashim Shettima.
He described the banker cum politician as a good man and wished him well.
“It requires a lot of effort and so on. So, I hope that he will take it easy so that we can continue with the struggle to ensure one solid and prosperous Nigeria. I’m so happy with that combination.
“Shettima was my colleague as a governor during my second term. He’s a gentleman, he’s a good man. I wish him well.
“I’m so happy with that combination; my only worry is the platform ( the APC). This platform…I don’t know.
“Bola Tinubu is a strategist. I had reasons to sit with him an uncountable number of times from 1992 till date.
“I wish I will see him to ask what he will do differently from what president Muhammad Buhari is doing today That is my serious concern for him. Ordinarily, if I cannot get it I can recommend him”, he said.
