The Founder of Enjoy Nigeria Expo, Isa Yusuf Sago, said the country could earn over N1 billion revenue yearly from Small and Micro Enterprises (SMEs), especially in creative, cultural, industry, fashion and tourism industries, if properly harnessed.
Sango said the time has come for Nigeria to look beyond oil and tap into the non-oil sector for economic rebirth
“We cannot continue to rely on oil, the creative industry can stand in the gap,” he said.
He said this yesterday at the ongoing five-day Enjoy Nigeria Expo in Abuja.
He also said: “Today, Enjoy Nigeria is connecting the SMEs to one market that will showcase fashion, creative and tourism sectors to the world.”
He explained that Enjoy Nigeria Expo 2021, which drew participants from across all the states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), is aimed at drawing the attention of stakeholders in the nation’s creative, cultural, entertainment and tourism sectors to lift women and youths out of poverty.
The Minister of State, Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Maryam Yalwaji Katagun, said the event would assist women and youths to build capacity in their respective businesses as well as turn simple arts and skills into high-revenue earnings.
